Advisory race

Dollars Minutes

Last year we hit both goals: $40,000 raised and 100,000 minutes read. This year, let's go further.

    Read. Share. Celebrate.

Every ASTEME student can take part, from our youngest readers to our middle schoolers. Picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, audiobooks, and reading aloud all count.

    1. An adult reads a book with two young students on the floor.

      Sign up your reader

Join your advisory's team on Zeffy and create your student's fundraising page. Add a photo and a goal for minutes read.

    2. Two older students share a book on a couch.

      Share with family and friends

Send the page link to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors. Anyone can give from anywhere.

    3. A student lies on the floor reading a chapter book, chin in hand.

      Read every day

Log reading minutes during the Read-A-Thon. Twenty minutes a day adds up fast across the whole school.

    4. Students cheer with their arms in the air.

      Celebrate together

When we reach our goals, we celebrate as a school and recognize our top readers and fundraisers.

    Spread the word

Most gifts come from a quick message to someone who loves your reader. Add your student's name and page link, then copy a message below.

    Key dates

Reading minutes count between the start and end dates. Donations stay open through the celebration so late pledges still help.

    Good to know

    Who can participate?

Every ASTEME student. Younger readers can count time being read to, and older students can count independent reading, audiobooks, and reading aloud to siblings.

Does my child have to raise money to take part?

No. Every minute read helps us reach our schoolwide reading goal. Fundraising is encouraged but never required.

    What counts as reading?

Books, graphic novels, magazines, e-books, and audiobooks all count. So does reading together as a family. If your child is engaged with a story, it counts.

    Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. ASTEME Learning Center is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and Zeffy emails you a tax receipt right after you give.

What is the tip Zeffy asks for?

Zeffy is free for nonprofits and runs on optional tips from donors. The tip goes to Zeffy, not to ASTEME, and you can set it to $0. Your full donation still reaches our school.

Can my employer match my gift?

Many companies match donations to schools and nonprofits, sometimes dollar for dollar. Ask your HR team or look for "matching gifts" on your benefits site. Most programs ask for your Zeffy receipt and our details: ASTEME Learning Center, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Can I donate without supporting a specific student?

Yes. A general gift counts toward the schoolwide goal and supports every project on our list.
